Answers to the most frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions summarised for you

  • To which scale are the models made?

The models are manufactured exactly and exclusively in a 1:14.5 scale. The scale indicates by how much the model is smaller than the original.

  • Are custom-made models available in other scales?

In some exceptions, unique specimens are available in a different scale. However, the scale should be within the range of our models, because our production and expertise are specifically geared towards this scale.

  • Can I also use ScaleART accessories on other truck models?

The ScaleART accessories in a 1:14.5 scale can of course also be used on other models in the same scale. The fixing/connecting points must then be adapted to your model.

  • Are ScaleART models ready-made models or assembly kits?

All models with the exception of a few products like our flatbed semi-trailers, are available from our product range as a kit. Our modelling specialists will also build your road ready model upon request.

  • Can I buy and assemble my desired model step by step?

This is possible of course because each model comes with assembly instructions which leads you step by step to building your road ready model. Starting with the chassis with all of its add-on parts such as shock absorber packages, mudguard brackets, etc. to the installation of the drive technology, right through to the electronic and hydraulic systems, you can successfully realise your ScaleART functional model. If you wish to build your dream model step by step, just send us an email or give us a ring and we will put together an order guide for you.

  • Which materials are used to make the models?

All parts and models are generally manufactured from high-quality materials using state-of-the-art production methods. The main component used in the models is metal, this can be a material mix of zinc and aluminium, for example, in the driver’s cabins, lasered stainless steel in the chassis and brass/aluminium in the tipper bodies. Some components are refined through anodising process or burnishing. Driver’s cabs and tipper bodies are painted in your choice of colour using a high-quality three-layer painting process.

  • What can I do if I don’t feel confident enough to install the electronic/hydraulic systems or simply don’t have time to finish building my model?

We will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have after your purchase. In many cases we can also support you with pictures made by our modeling specialists during the construction phase because as the saying goes, “pictures say more than 1000 words”. If you still don’t feel confident touching the electronic or hydraulic systems, we will be happy to install and connect these parts or conduct the final assembly of your model for you. What costs can you expect? This will always be decided on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the building phase, possible assembly errors and special requests, we will be happy to provide you with an individual quotation.

  • A part broke or I just can’t find the part anymore.

Sometimes very small and delicate parts can break or simply disappear into the carpet. That’s quite annoying, but it can happen. If this occurs, you will find assembly instructions for each ScaleART item or kit on which you will find a part number for each part and each screw. You can order each individual part separately by specifying the assembly instructions and the part number (e.g. assembly instructions suspension spring 710000013 part 1.3).

  • When unpacking my order, I noticed a missing part or defect. Who can I contact?

We endeavour to pack all orders with the greatest possible care. However should complaints still arise, we process them in a quick and simple manner. If you wish to make a complaint, please send us an email to info@scaleart.de or give us a ring on +49 (0)6236 416 651 and tell us which item in your oder you wish to query.

  • Does my model come with a warranty?

Warranties are often issued on a flat-rate basis and without further explanation but not with us. You get a lifelong warranty for example on the parts of the drive technology (drive axles and transmission), you also get a warranty with the hydraulics on the cylinders, valve blocks and hydraulic pumps (with the exception of the installed electronic parts, e.g. engine with transmission or hydraulic pump). As with anything, proper handling and use is a prerequisite for a warranty to be valid.

If you have purchased a road ready model from us, you will naturally receive a guarantee and warranty that the model will function 100%, provided, of course that the model is properly handled and maintained/cared for. If you would like to know more about this topic, just give us a ring!

  • What is the difference between ScaleART and ScaleDRIVE?

ScaleART offers kits for a range of completely functional models (truck, construction machinery or trailer/semi-trailer models). This means you get your RC model starting from the frame to the finished painted cab as a kit with assembly instructions. Everything is perfectly compatible and made to scale. ScaleDRIVE offers accessories for all commercial vehicle models in a 1:13 to 1:16 scale. All parts have been designed to offer the best compatibility possible with models by the manufacturers Tamiya®, Wedico® and Bruder® . ScaleDRIVE does not offer complete kits, but you can equip your truck model to become a functional model with the high-quality accessories that offer excellent value for money.
